The Role You'll Play to Create Success
We are thrilled to announce a full-time and onsite Benefits Pricing Analyst position filled with many exciting opportunities! This role contributes to the mission of FrankCrum by performing the functions of health underwriting support for the purposes of benefits pricing.
- Prepare and analyze benefit pricing models for new business, renewals, and mid-year plan changes.
- Support underwriting evaluations, including risk assessments, claims experience analysis, and demographic reviews.
- Analyze historical claims data, enrollment trends, utilization patterns, and plan performance.
- Assist in developing pricing recommendations that balance competitiveness, risk management, and profitability objectives.
- Support master health plan pricing and ensure Medical Loss Ratio (MLR) targets are met.
- Coordinate with carriers and underwriting partners to obtain quotes, clarify assumptions, and validate pricing inputs.
- Review carrier proposals for accuracy, compliance, and alignment with internal underwriting guidelines.
- Prepare underwriting summaries, pricing exhibits, and recommendation materials for leadership review.
- Support benefit renewal strategy by modeling plan design changes and rate scenarios.
- Ensure underwriting guidelines and pricing methodologies are documented and consistently applied.
- Assist in monitoring plan performance and identifying emerging pricing or risk trends.
- Partner with Benefits Sales and Account Executives to support consultative benefit discussions.
- Support open enrollment and rebranding efforts by providing pricing analysis and enrollment projections.
- Validate benefit submissions to ensure accurate and complete data is provided to carriers.
- Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, and Benefits Operations to ensure pricing aligns with billing and deductions.
- Maintain underwriting tools, spreadsheets, and reporting dashboards.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and increased pricing accuracy.
- Stay current on market trends, carrier pricing strategies, and regulatory considerations impacting benefits pricing.
- Knowledge of Federal and state laws regarding employee benefits and insurance sales, COBRA, PPACA, ERISA, IRS Section 125, and the PEO industry.
- Knowledge of company services and products.
- Knowledge of business profitability and risk management.
- Knowledge of modern office methods and procedures.
- Experience with group health underwriting or PEO benefit plans.
- Familiarity with MLR concepts and plan performance analysis.
- Experience supporting benefit renewals and open enrollment.
- Exposure to pricing tools, BI platforms, or actuarial software.
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance considerations related to group benefits
