The Role You'll Play to Create Success

We are happy to announce a full-time Release Manager position filled with many exciting opportunities! In this role, you will have the opportunity to impact the FrankCrum business everyday by coordinating and overseeing the release process and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth and timely delivery of releases while maintaining the integrity and quality of our products/services

  1. Collaborates with stakeholders to plan and prioritize release schedules based on business objectives, customer needs, and development timelines.
  2. Orchestrates the activities of cross-functional teams involved in the release process, including development, quality assurance, product, operations, and support.
  3. Identifies, assesses, and mitigates risks that may impact the release schedule, quality, or deployment process.
  4. Addresses issues and conflicts that arise during the release process, including technical issues, resource constraints, and dependencies.
  5. Communication: Informs stakeholders about release status, key milestones, and any changes to the release plan. This may include regular status updates, release notes, and stakeholder meetings.
  6. Ensures that releases meet quality standards and undergo thorough testing, including coordinating testing efforts, reviewing test results, overseeing pre-release validations, and coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities. It’s important to emphasize that this responsibility does not entail direct management of the QA process.
  7. the deployment of releases into production environments, ensuring smooth and successful deployment with minimal disruption to users.
  8. Provides support and troubleshooting assistance to users and stakeholders following release deployment, addressing any issues or concerns that arise.
  9. Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation related to release planning, processes, and procedures. This may include release plans, deployment guides, and release notes.
  10. Identifies opportunities for process improvement and optimization in the release management process, implementing best practices, and driving continual improvement efforts.

The Attributes We Seek

Keys to success in this position include knowledge of software development methodologies, ITIL and IT service management principles. Knowledge of CICD pipeline process, automated testing, deployment methodologies for code and database changes, source control, branching strategies, code merge, Git, GitHub, Git Flow and Azure DevOps is needed.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is required. Experience in release management or related roles in the software industry, with release automation tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI/CD is also required.
